Riding Hero is a racing game and the first SNK home console release to include versus LAN play.
+ Great sense of speed (especially when turbo is activated) and the controls are responsive.
+ RPG mode where you earn money and attempt to upgrade your bike is innovative.
- However, the above mode has too much dialogue and introduces bothersome cars that drive in the middle of the road!
- Considering you're against the clock in Grand Prix mode, it takes an age for your bike to reposition itself after a crash.
- Collision detection is awful and you'll pinball into opponents far too often while losing precious seconds.
- You always take the brunt of crashes even if it's the CPU's fault, and they often enter the screen to bash you with no warning.
- Enemy A.I. features severe rubber banding and watching the CPU speed up/down on a dime breaks any immersion.
